Say Hello to the Dawn Launcher!
Dawn has a launcher! Everything that used to be a README and a handful of terminal commands is now one window. Sign in, pick a folder, press Play. It finds or downloads the correct D2 build, keeps the Dawn client up to date, and points your game at the right server on its own.
✦ Getting Set Up
The first run walks you through it step by step:
- Discord. Sign in so the server knows who you are. Your server profile picture and roles come along with it.
- Steam. Link by scanning a QR code with the Steam app, or log in with your password (which never touches the launcher).
- Install folder. Point it at an existing copy and it checks the files, or pick an empty folder and it downloads what's missing.
- Server. You're connected to US East. More regions will show up here as they come online.
✦ Expansions
Forsaken and Shadowkeep content is unlocked based on what your linked Steam account owns. Hit Check my expansions in the profile menu after buying one. The check happens on the server, and Family Sharing or a different Steam account won't count.
- Forsaken: The Tangled Shore and Dreaming City Campaign + Activities, Last Wish Raid, and Shattered Throne Dungeon
- Shadowkeep: The Moon Campaign + Activities, Garden of Salvation Raid, Pit of Heresy Dungeon and Trials of Osiris
✦ Friends and News
The friends button shows who's online and what they're up to: where they are, their Power, and whether their fireteam has room. This page is also where the News tab gets its posts from, so anything tagged as Dawn news here shows up right inside the launcher.
What if Something breaks?
Open Settings → Repair. It checks the client, your game settings, the server connection and your files, and fixes what it can in one click. If it still won't launch, grab Restoration\logs\restoration-client.log before relaunching and drop it in the Discord.
